I’m so excited to celebrate Easter with Wyatt this year. He’s now a year an a half so he’ll be much more into things like an egg hunt or digging through an Easter basket. In our house growing up we had an egg and basket hunt around the first floor of the house, usually because it was either too cold outside or there was snow (that’s New England for you.) The Easter bunny always did an “egg”cellent job of hiding everything, and it was a competition between the four siblings for who found their basket first, collected the most eggs, and found the last few really tricky ones. Wyatt’s egg and basket hunt won’t be as involved yet, but he loves opening every drawer and cabinet, so he’ll definitely have fun with a mission.
We all know that moms (and dads) are super busy, so if you haven’t put together your little one’s Easter basket yet or you need to add a few more items, no need to freak out. Easter is only a few days away, but I’ve got you covered with a few items that have two day shipping so you don’t even have to go to the store!
Basket
Don’t forget about the actual basket, if this is your first Easter with a little one or you need a new basket, here are some options for baskets, grass, and eggs. We opted for this one with Wyatt’s name monogrammed on it. We got this Easter grass with these pastel eggs for putting candy in (yes, I’m giving my 18 month old candy.)
Toys
Here are some Easter-themed toys. We did a mix of Easter or spring items, and just some toys we know he’ll enjoy that aren’t related to the season (balls, cars, bubbles, etc.)
Books
I always like to include books, and Wyatt loves a good book, (check out our 3 easy tips for making reading a cornerstone activity for your little one HERE!) Wyatt is obsessed with Mo Willems books right now, especially the Elephant & Piggie series, he cannot get enough of them, so I included this mini set and also this book.
Clothes
Wyatt’s getting a new pair of jammies and also some new shoes in his basket this year. He’s 18 months now so I’m buying him all new sizes anyways, so I wanted to throw in a few pieces that he could pull out from the Easter bunny. Obviously the options are endless here!
Candy
What’s an Easter basket without some candy?! I am a sucker for all the cute Lindt Easter chocolates so we stocked up on some of those, and then some non-choking hazard small candies to fill eggs with, like small jellybeans and wrapped chocolate. Wyatt loves to unwrap things like Hershey’s Kisses, and it’s great for his fine motor skills!
HOPPY EASTER!
