Sometimes buying for kids is tricky because there are just SO many options out there! Our families ask for Wyatt’s Christmas and birthday lists every year and I find that the easiest way to provide it is to create a Wish List on Amazon. It acts like a registry so if someone from my family buys something off of it, it is marked as purchased so no one else buys it too. You can also link things on there from any other website with the Universal Registry Button. Your address or wherever you want the gift to be sent is also saved in there so the sender doesn’t have to figure that out! This strategy is great for birthdays and the holiday season!
pajamas | car | tree skirt
With all the options of kid’s gifts out there, I created a 10-category list to buy from so your babe gets a variety of gifts (if they’ve been good this year!) A bunch of the options are on Wyatt’s list this year (as a 14 month old), and some of them he already has. If all else fails, consult this hilarious list one of my mom friends sent me, it’s spot on! Happy gifting!
Ride On Toys
Whether it’s stationary like a rocking horse (some of my favorites here) or moves like a car, toddlers LOVE a ride-on toy! This is usually a bigger investment and isn’t easily hidden so make sure you like it too! We have this awesome white metal car and Wyatt is almost big enough to ride on it, but has been using it as a push-toy around the house since he got it for his first birthday! (It also comes in silver, pink, red, black, and firetruck)
Toddler Chairs & Beanbags
This is on Wyatt’s Christmas list this year. He loves sitting on the couch like a big boy, but we have to be sitting with him or it’s dangerous. For the past few days I’ve been setting him up his own couch on the floor using the cushions from our couch. He’s loving having his own place to sit, so we decided it was time to get him his own seat! I’ve debated between a personalized Anywhere Chair, but because of our current apartment situation, I decided to go for this non-personalized bean bag that can later be used in a playroom, living room, or a child’s room. Here, here and here are some great bean bag options, most of them can be personalized too! (If your child has a playroom, I die over these playroom tables and chairs, this, this, and this set, these options, and some bargain ones here!)
Pull & Push Toys
Wyatt loves building his walking confidence by using push and pull toys. If your babe is just starting to or thinking about walking, a walker is perfect (love this and this wooden one). A pull toy does the same confidence building for more experienced walkers. My parents have an original version of this dog and Wyatt loves it! Here’s a cute felt pull toy, this wooden one is on Wyatt’s list and this wooden train comes with blocks as well. He also has this truck that does a lot of other cool stuff too! I’m obsessed with this MINI radio flyer wagon, Wyatt’s getting it for Christmas!
Books
You cannot go wrong with books (more on the importance of reading with your little one here!) Some of my favorite series for toddlers are the Elephant and Piggie books, Sandra Boynton board books, Pete the Cat books, and the Touch and Feel books for added sensory development! Board books make great gifts for kids this age. Another great idea is a Lillypost Book Subscription, hand-wrapped children’s books delivered to your door every month! This is a great time to gift Elf on the Shelf or Mench on the Bench so you can start the tradition next year! If I get around to it before Christmas I’m also going to make Wyatt a names & faces book of all of his family on Pinhole Press– so cute!
Playhouses & Play Tents
This isn’t on our list for this year because of space, but a play tent or canopy will definitely be on our list in the future! My parents saved a humongous cardboard box at their house and made it into a playhouse, Wyatt loves hanging out in it. As always, I love the RH ones, this selection is super creative (they even has a rocketship option!), and some great options here as well.
Kitchens, Tool Benches & Dollhouses
These items could be on a wish list for years because your babe will get tons of use out of it at different ages.
Kitchens
probably my fave, big sale!, dark wood option, least expensive, more. Don’t forget the pots + pans and food!
Dollhouses
OBSESSED, I die, Treehouse, Castle, Farm
Tool Benches
Favorite, very similar, can personalize
Just watch out for small pieces, some items could be choking hazards for certain ages!
Instruments
Wyatt loves music and is super into instruments lately. TBH even though this is a loud gift, it’s better than him banging on my pots and pans! He loves pounding on a xylophone or drumming anything. Here are some variety pack options: this, this, and this.
Age Appropriate Toys
A ton of these are on Wyatt’s wish list this year and some he already has and loves! Train set, magnetic blocks, puzzles (wooden peg puzzles are great for their fine motor level), wooden shape sorter, Chuckle Ball (hilarious!), wood ramp race track (my preschoolers were obsessed with this thing!), Mega Blocks, tunnel, toy cleaning set (Wyatt loves “helping” me clean, so why not encourage that with his own set!)
Outdoor Toys
If you have a driveway, yard, or access to a park these are some great options! Classic Radio Flyer Wagon (deluxe version, we have this one!), Steer and Stroll Trike, Ride On Push Car (also in pink), Cozy Coupe Car, Basketball Hoop (on Wyatt’s list!), slide, swing (Wyatt has this at his grandparent’s house!)
Clothes
I obviously could go on and on with items here, but here are just a few items I love for toddler boys + girls that would make great gifts!

vest | boots | bomber hat | sweater | shoes
Girls
