Whitney (my sister-in-law) and her fiance, Todd got engaged in August and this past week I got to shoot their engagement pictures and help throw an engagement party for them! Having shot my sister and her fiance’s engagement pictures in San Francisco a few days before, I felt slightly more prepared for this shoot, although again, I made them get on Pinterest to familiarize themselves with some “couple poses.” However, instead of trying to find shade, like in the last shoot, this time we were literally chasing the sun.
We found this amazing venue for a photoshoot while hunting on, you guessed it…Pinterest. Appleton Farms is the oldest continuously operating farm in the country, and it’s located in Ipswich, MA…just a short ride from where we were having the engagement party at my in-law’s. We unfortunately got to the farm a little on the late side and only ended up with about twenty minutes of daylight. We managed to get some beautiful shots, and even got to include their cute Puppy, Copper (he was part of the proposal…can you even?!) Once we got going, Todd and Whit were easy to shoot, they’re playful with each other, each smitten with the other, and they really balance each other out…for lack of a better term, they know how to “manage” each other and that was important when we were in a time crunch. You would never know by these pics, but I was making them literally run (in heels) to areas that we still had a little sunlight (golden hour doesn’t really exist when the sun is blocked by trees) and although we all knew we were fighting time, the happy couple appeared relaxed and had some fun. Here’s a sneak peek, happy engagement you two, can’t wait to shoot your Christmas card! 😉
