Here’s another quick & easy DIY party decor tutorial. I made these three floral hoops for our gender reveal party and hung them above the dessert table. The size and number of hoops is easy to customize so you can make this display as small or as large as you’d like!
I love this for any spring events coming up, baby & bridal showers, little girl’s birthday parties, even for Easter!
Materials:
- Hoops (various sizes…I did a 23″, 18″ and 14″) I used wooden embroidery hoops (you actually get two hoops out of each item because there are two pieces to each hoop if you want two displays or two hoops of the same size…but you could use a painted hoola hoop or large gold wreath hoops.)
- Floral wire (green)
- Scissors
- Fresh flowers & greenery (I used seeded eucalyptus, silver dollar eucalyptus, and baby’s breath. Adding some larger blooms would be gorgeous too. You can also do this with faux florals if you want it to be a more permanent piece.)
- To Hang: fishing line and small clear Command Hooks
Directions:
1. Cut some of the floral wire into 2 inch pieces. For the 3 hoops I made, I probably used about 16 2-inch pieces.
2. Separate out your florals and greenery into individual sprigs. You might need to trim some pieces or stems.
3. Lay greenery and florals out along the hoop until you get a pattern you like. This will depend on the type of flowers you have any your personal style. You can choose to make the florals go all the way around the hoop or only partial like I did. You can also skip this step and just start arranging as you go directly on the hoop.
4. Once you have an approximate design you like, start attaching the greenery and flowers with the floral wire by just wrapping it around the stem and hoop. You can choose to wrap your actual stems around the hoop or just attach to the front of the hoop like I did.
5. Continue attaching the stems until you have a design you like. You can always go back and add more blooms or sprigs into the existing wire thats already attached to fill it in more.
6. Repeat steps on all hoops you want to do.
7. Hanging: I laid out my arrangement on the ground so visualize how I wanted it on the wall. Then I attached three mini command hooks to my ceiling and looped fishing line around each hoop and command hook, then tied it off at the height I wanted.
Enjoy your new DIY floral hoop display!
