I’ve been looking for a piece of large-scale art for above our sofa and haven’t had any luck at a reasonable price. My home is very neutral, and I wanted something abstract that was also neutral. When I couldn’t seem to find what I wanted, I decided to take matters into my own hands and attempted making the art myself.

This pinboard was a SUPER easy DIY project and was incredibly inexpensive. It cost me about $15…much cheaper than this exact same size $169 Pottery Barn one that I used as inspiration! I put it in Wyatt’s playroom to display his artwork, but it can be used anywhere- a kitchen for all those miscellaneous papers, pictures & coupons, an office or even a bedroom.

Our kitchen is FINALLY just about done, with the exception of a few switch plates, this project has wrapped!
When we bought our house back in May, we knew we wanted to give the kitchen a bit of a facelift. There was nothing wrong with it, just wanted to make it a little lighter & brighter and to our taste. The changes in the kitchen that we made are as follows:
Wyatt has wanted a play kitchen for a while now, he has one at my parent’s place and now that we have our house, we have room for one in his playroom! I heavily debated splurging on a big & fancy Pottery Barn one because I just die over those, but decided to reel myself in and reach for one at a more accessible price point…it’s a toy after all!
